Spring is early
Usually, the ground is still frozen during this time of the year and there is not much to do outside. This year, however, it was +10°C outside and the sun was shining. Spring flowers (snowdrops and even crocuses) were blooming, the last patch of snow was gone and the birds were singing.
I had been staring different displays since fall so I was eager to get outside. The yard was full of branches and leaves that autumn and winter storms had deposited. I raked and burned everything that was dry enough. The spring season had started. As the winter was very mild, the grass was green and if I wanted to make a complete idiot of myself, I could have taken out the lawn mower. I withheld myself and decided not to. Usually, I start to cut grass in May.
By the end of the day, some parts of the yard were looking smart and tidy. I was tired but happy. It was a welcome change. It was somewhat difficult to get out of bed the next morning but it reminded me to be more active and look after myself.
