Dear diary!

Dear diary!

HE
Hendrik

Initially, I wanted to see if I can create and launch a working website. I studied web development on my own in the '00s. I even built a couple of sites using Dreamweaver and Fireworks. Decades passed and I peeked at web development one evening while bored. Few moons later and I am the proud landlord of Scribbits!

What to expect

  • Posts regarding my hobbies: tinkering with electronics, building and improving stuff, design and coding, gardening, personal stories, perhaps some reviews.

  • You are more than welcome to chime in by leaving comments.

  • Texts written by a human being.

  • Hopefully some giggles along the way.

What not to expect

  • Professional advice. I am a hobbyist and by no means an expert!

Why did I create this site?

  • I love creating and technology! From the moment I had this idea to finally putting it online, it has been a pleasure. Sure, it's not been smooth sailing all the way. I've had doubts, loss of motivation and technical difficulties but seeing this site coming to life has made me forget all the hiccups. And I can now say: "I made this!"

  • I want to document my projects, achievements, and failures. Some days I think back and wonder - what did I accomplish yesterday, last week? I remember how my parents kept diaries. They used to fill these in every day. Even if it was one-two words at the end of a busy day, they had documented the most significant event from that day. I will give it a try (probably not every day).

  • Looking for some feedback and criticism. Sure, I will ask my family and friends for feedback but are our loved ones always objective?

  • Perhaps this is a way to establish new connections? What are the odds of meeting like-minded individuals here? Maybe I will find out now!

  • I will learn and gain experience. This is very important for me. So far, I have learned a lot about front- and back-end web development, how to work with AI and how to be a project manager.
